San Francisco's Chinese New Year Parade

The weekend of 3/2/07 we made the trek up to San Francisco and checked out the Chinese New Year parade. It is touted to be the biggest parade outside of Asia and boy it was a looooooong one this year. It was Tyler's first time experiencing it and he thoroughly enjoyed it, firecrackers, lions, dragons, et al. It started at 5:30 pm and we stayed for a couple of hours, but ended up leaving about halfway through to get some dinner. Of course, Tyler didn't want us to leave. He was having too good a time, but Mommy and Daddy really needed to get some food, especially after climbing all the hills in San Francisco. The hills were another unknown with Tyler. We weren't sure how he was going to do on them, but he did better than Mommy and Daddy did! He had a blast running up and down them and amazingly enough they didn't tire him out. Before the parade we had dim sum in Chinatown and spent a little time checking out the booths at the street fair. We didn't spend too much time in Chinatown though, because it was wall-to-wall people. After a couple of hours with Tyler and the stroller in tow we just decided to head back to the hotel and take a nap before the big parade.
